CABLING & BRACING

Sometimes, due to age, weather, and soil conditions, trees start to show signs of distress. For example, they start leaning to one side or cracking in forks, which might result in a fall or loss of large branches. Using cabling & bracing can prevent further tree and property damage.

For all tree removals in West Palm Beach, we give our customers the option of whether they would like us to haul the wood away or whether they would prefer to keep it. In many cases, a removed tree can be a good source of firewood.

Not all emergency trees need to be removed – cabling & bracing can save them!

Some trees are simply too valuable to dispose of, even if they are damaged. For example, they create large shade, cool and purify the air and bring many other benefits to gardens, yards, and ecosystems in general.

The best way to save them is by using cabling and bracing techniques

Cabling stands for the process of connecting the tree and large branches to nearby buildings using ropes and steel cables. Since the building stabilizes the tree and provides more support, it is mostly used on trees that are no longer strong enough to support themselves.

Bracing, on the other hand, stands for a process of using metal braces and ties to stop the tree from cracking and splitting. It is used on trees that have large cracks in the trunk but are able to support themselves.

Be careful, because these methods can not save all trees. Using cabling & bracing is recommended for trees with:

  • Splits in the trunk
  • Poor V-crotch stems
  • Large, overextended branches
  • Leaned trunk

Because these procedures require professional equipment and experience, it is not advised to do it alone. Always hire reliable professional arborists, and rest assured that your beautiful trees are saved. We will estimate the tree’s condition and use the best equipment and knowledge to make the tree stable again and bring back its former glory!
